Labour Rights Initiative
Workers, including those in unorganized sectors, face a range of challenges in their workplaces, from illegal wage cuts to unfair termination and even sexual harassment. These issues not only undermine the dignity and rights of workers but also threaten the economic backbone of society, which relies on their labor. India has comprehensive labour laws, many of which were shaped by visionaries like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, to safeguard workers’ rights and ensure fair treatment. However, the gap between the theoretical framework of these laws and their practical implementation often leaves workers vulnerable to exploitation.
Despite the existence of these laws, workers frequently encounter diluted rights due to systemic issues within the legal framework, such as prolonged delays in case resolutions and the lack of adequate or experienced legal representation. Recognizing these challenges, we at NNF are committed to upholding the rights of workers through active litigation and advocacy. Our mission is to bridge the gap between legal theory and reality, ensuring justice and dignity for workers across the country.
